Yesterday I adopted three geckos.π A Madagascar day gecko and two leopard geckos. The day gecko secretly watches me from a safe hiding place while I sit and work at my desk.π You don't get to see the other two and I don't want to disturb them.π€« Unfortunately, the previous owner kept both species together in one terrarium. But now I'm taking care of a species-approbiate home.π€
These cute day geckos climbed around freely in the Exotarium which I visited in 2017.
You can see that in some places the top layer of skin was missing, but already regenerating. When a day gecko is grabbed or bitten, it can loosen its top layer of skin to escape its threat. These wounds usually heal within a few months.
