Species:guttatus
Name:Corn snake

Description

The Corn snake (Pantherophis guttatus) is a species of snake found in the United States and northern Mexico. They live in a variety of habitats, including forests, swamps, grasslands, and even human settlements. Corn snakes are nocturnal hunters that feed on small mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians. They are solitary and spend the day in hiding, such as a cave or under a rock. Corn snakes are oviparous animals that lay their eggs in a warm, moist place. The females lay 10-30 eggs, which hatch after about a month. The young animals are immediately on their own and have to take care of themselves. Corn snakes are a popular species among reptile keepers because they are relatively easy to care for and have a long lifespan.
