My painting in detail. At some point, I'm sure to make bigger sloth steps again. By the way, I haven't painted many paintings in my life. I never liked it very much. In school I often got approval, rather than painting what the teacher says, to draw what I want. Later attempts I never found satisfying. Good that I've tried again. It's an exercise picture, I took the canvas with the least quality for it. Now I paint for over 2 years on it.

Listen to music, catch some rays, paint my never ending painting. ๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŒž๐ŸŽจ I've been working on this image since February 2017. It's still not finished. The meaning of this painting is about freedom. The title is "Terrarium Snake and Monarch Butterfly".
It started as training. That's my first tempera painting. Usually I decide to finish my work at some point. I imagined the picture and myself growing together. In the meantime I have freed myself from the idea of having to finish it at all.

I haven't seen many animals on my way from Hidroelรฉctrica to Aguas Calientes. It already was dusk when I almost reached my destination. That's the time of owl butterflies! They are pretty large (65 - 200 mm). The name comes from those eye spots on their wings. Do you know the purpose of those spots?

I wasn't constantly on the move in Amsterdam. I took the time to bring some of the impressions into my painting. I've been working on this image since February 2017. It's still not finished! The meaning of this painting is about freedom. The title is "Terrarium Snake and Monarch Butterfly". A vague impression of what my picture currently looks like, you'll find in my very first post. โœŒ

Hummingbird hawk-moth,
Macroglossum stellaratum
(06/2017 in Oberursel, Germany)

Although we don't have hummingbirds in Europe, some are spotted sometimes. Due to their fast wing movements this diurnal moth looks very big in flight. The moth performs hummingbird-like flight maneuvers and makes an impressive sound. They are migratory butterflies and spend the summer in northern Eurasia. In winter, they fly to southern Eurasia and North Africa. There are also transition areas with permanent habitat. However, the borders are shifting due to global warming.
