In Christian culture, the snail has been used as a symbol of the deadly sin of sloth. In Mayan mythology, the snail is associated with sexual desire, being purrsonified by the sexy God of Annual Misfortune, called Wayeb. I must say it feels very good how my baby slides on me! 😶🐌💘

Sacred garden of the Coricancha temple. Spanish chroniclers describe it as a garden of golden plants with leaves of beaten gold, stems of silver, solid gold corn-cobs and 20 life-size llamas and their herders all in solid gold. Also many other animals like colibris, snakes, butterflies and even spiders formed a detailed garden of gold and silver. Gold was considered the "sweat pearls of the sun" and silver the "tears of the moon".🌞🌚

Coricancha "The Golden Temple" with Convent of Santo Domingo above. The Coricancha was the most important temple in the Inca Empire. It was destroyed during the Conquista. It must have been very impressive with lots of gold decorations. The remains form the foundation of the convent. There is a museum inside which also includes art collections (Cusco School and contemporary art). The green area is the sacred garden. The man in the white shirt is just leaving a small archaelogical museum, which is located directly under the garden.

Today I sent another cheek swab to the DKMS ( German Bone Marrow Donor File, @dkms_de ).🤗 I was asked to do because they need to know if I was infected with the cytomegalovirus. This is a herpes virus, harmless to healthy people, but quite dangerous for weakened people, such as leukemia patients.
I registered as a stem cell donor 14 years ago. At that time, it already worked very simply with cheek swabs. You could easily order a set at home. The tissue characteristics are stored in a database and compared with patients who are waiting for a transplant. So far there hasn't been a sufficient match, so I haven't yet been asked to donate cells. If someone needs my help, I'm there!🙃✌ ⠀ ⠀

That's me after my Jugendweihe 20 years ago. The Jugendweihe (Youth consecration) is a secular coming of age ceremony practised by German 14-year-olds, mainly known in East Germany. In 2000 there where almost 100,000 participants nationwide, 10 years later there where only around 25,000 participants. However, this has less to do with popularity. After the reunification of Germany, many moved from the east to the west. There's even evidence that the popularity of the Jugendweihe increases again. I liked it because I got money and thenceforth was allowed to stay up 2 hours longer. I lived in a children's home with very strict rules and my new privilege became a real blessing, especially because I could finally watch the really interesting movies. 🙃

Oops! Post #404! Time for a bug report! That's my bud, the brown marmorated stink bug (Halyomorpha halys). Since 2011, this species has been detected in Germany and comes originally from East Asia. They are also found in North and South America. Often on house walls, they sometimes get lost inside. They can't survive the winter in warm houses, so I left it free.🕊

Sloths are time travelers.
