Sac spiders look pretty similar to jumping spiders. That's because of their similar way of life. They don't hunt with nets but with their two big claws and they're excellent climbers. During daytime they usually sleep in sack-shaped dwellings made of plant parts and silk.
During my nocturnal sloth walk, a cold fog danced across the Bommersheim fields. The moths in my fur started knitting little gloves. It doesn't make much difference whether I hibernate or not. But I decided to shoot some photos first.
Crickets bring good luck! 🍀😍 Loki was very happy! 💖😋 That was a "great green bush cricket" (Tettigonia viridissima). It's one of the largest grasshopper species in Europe. They're very common. In late summer, they wander 👣 from the herbaceous layer 🌾 into the shrub and tree layers 🌳. That's why you will find them more often at home.🏡 The video was shot in late September.🎥
