In Oberursel-Stierstadt I saw these ๐—ฏ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐˜‚๐˜๐—ถ๐—ณ๐˜‚๐—น ๐˜€๐—ต๐—ฒ๐—ฒ๐—ฝ (I assume Heidschnucke).

And I show you the ๐˜€๐—บ๐—ฎ๐—น๐—น๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜ ๐—ณ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฒ-๐˜€๐˜๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐—ต๐—ผ๐˜‚๐˜€๐—ฒ in Germany. Originally it was a transformer substation, but a few years ago it has been converted into a residential building with 14 square meters.

The facade was sprayed by the Oberursel graffiti artist ๐— ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ธ๐˜‚๐˜€ ๐—๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ถ๐˜€๐˜๐—ฎ (1979-2017) based on the Alte Oper in Frankfurt.

This little beauty is a mirid bug (Deraeocoris ruber)๐Ÿค ๐Ÿž

They inhabit forests, but occur mainly on sunny forest edges and open areas.๐ŸŒณ๐ŸŒž

Mirid bugs prey on various small arthropods such as caterpillars, but particularly aphids.๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ›
The prey is killed and sucked out by a sting that is also painful for humans.๐Ÿงƒ๐Ÿ˜‹

But that rarely happens.๐Ÿ˜„

The species is useful and harmless.๐Ÿค— However, nature is full of phenomena. In Germany, 2016, a related species (Psallus varians) - within the same family (Miridae) - spontaneously developed an increased appetite for blood and attacked humans and animals in very large numbers.๐Ÿ˜ต๐Ÿฉธ๐ŸŒณ

The mirid bug is widespread in almost all of Europe (except the far north and few islands in the Mediterranean and Atlantic) - you find it in North Africa - and further east to the Caucasus. It has been introduced in some areas of North and South America.๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒŽ
