Claviceps purpurea is an ergot fungus that grows on the ears of rye and related plants.
Can you spot it? This is used to make LSD. This fungus is poisonous and will be removed later from the harvest! In medieval times, poisonings were often. The commonly referred to as "St. Anthony's Fire" ergotism has dire consequences and can lead to death. The alkaloids contained therein may also trigger hallucinations, and may have played a role in the genesis of mythical creatures.

The loveliest place I found in Peru is Santa Teresa. It's a few kilometers away from Machu Picchu. There I relaxed so much! Here on a rock at the Urubamba River, near the hot wells.

A nice building by famous Dutch architect Hendrick de Keyser (17th century). I like the street lamp. Next time I'll pay more attention to the lamps of Amsterdam. There are countless different designs everywhere.

Last night, I discovered this early instar nymph of the cockroach Planuncus tingitanus s.l..🔦 It's a species complex which still needs much research. 🔬
Originally from the Mediterranean, they have spread rapidly in Europe in recent decades. In Germany, they were first found in Mainz in 2007. That's about 50 kilometers away from Oberursel. They live on shrubs near human settlements🌳🏘🏡 but only accidentally get into houses and only live outside.

Last night I photographed this small leafhopper (Jassargus sp.). Looking for tiny animals is fun, but in the darkness even more!
